Toccata Black Truffle Oil

Slightly less familiar to most truffle oil lovers, the flavor of this oil is my favorite. The dark earthy flavor of black winter truffles has a magic all its own.
Truffle oil can be controversial. Because of the abundance of horrible truffle oils, and because truffle oil can be easily abused by using too much- truffle oil isn’t as fashionable as it used to be. These fine oils by Toccata are just superb. Most of my chef customers will use no other truffle oil but these.
This great truffle oil is a special treat as a final touch to risotto, in something as simple as a baked potato or even on popcorn. Refrigerate truffle oil after it’s opened. It will become solid in the refrigerator, but all you need to do is run the bottle under warm water to liquefy enough to pour out, then return the bottle to the refrigerator. |
